The Seafood Landscaping and Grill: A Fusion, also known as South African and Portuguese Flavors

Welcome to The SeaGarden & Grill, where South African and Portuguese culinary traditions merge to offer a delicious dining experience. Our restaurant, hidden in the centre offers a distinctive fusion experience that honours the varied and complex flavours of these two amazing human civilisations.

A Unique Fusion of Cuisines

At The SeaGarden & Grill, we believe that food can unite people, tell tales, form enduring memories, and provide sustenance. Our menu demonstrates this concept, combining the best elements of Portuguese and South African cooking to create dishes that are inventive and reassuring.

Portuguese Influence

Portugal’s cuisine is famous for using vibrant flavours and seasonal ingredients. The essence of Portuguese cuisine is anchored in the land and water, from the sun-kissed coasts to the verdant vineyards. We honour this custom at The Sea Garden and Grill with meals like:

A traditional Portuguese cuisine called Bacalhau à Brás comprises finely chopped potatoes, onions, and shredded salt fish. The ingredients are bonded with scrambled eggs and topped with parsley and olives.

Delicious chicken marinated in our own piri piri sauce, perfectly grilled, and served with seasoned rice and fresh veggies is known as piri piri chicken.

Pastéis de Nata is a popular custard tart from Portugal. It is flaky on the exterior and creamy inside, with powdered sugar and cinnamon on top.

The Touch of South Africa

Indian, Dutch, Malay and indigenous culinary traditions have all affected the diverse flavours that make up South African cuisine. We celebrate this diversity at The Sea Garden and Grill by serving up delicacies like these that encapsulate South Africa:

  • Bobotie is a classic Cape Malay meal enjoyed with yellow rice and sambals. It includes spiced minced pork baked with an egg-based coating.
  • Boerewors: A traditional sausage from South Africa, prepared from a mixture of pig and beef, grilled and seasoned with coriander and other spices. It is typically eaten with tomato relish and pap (maise porridge).
  • Malva Pudding: A warm, sweet, sticky pudding with a large drizzle of custard originating from the Cape Dutch. Made with apricot jam.

A Pleasure for the Vision

The atmosphere of our restaurant is intended to take you to a calm seaside conference, using elements that suggest the beauty of South Africa and Portugal. Every element of the eating experience, from the cosy, rustic décor to the calming waves, is designed to make you feel better.
